Kaaterskill falls is a pretty busy hike, we went on labor day weekend and people were carrying coolers down to the waterfall! A few open fires people grilling and just a bit too chaotic. However just about a mile out we found Inspiration point and you’ll hear nothing but crickets.
We spent the weekend in Hunter after kayaking on our first day this is what it’s like hiking to Kaaterskill falls. People everywhere, the view points from the upper trails are far better than the busy crowds at the base of the falls.
The falls and landscape are beautiful just way too many people. Head down opposite the falls follow the stream and you quickly end up in a quiet area.
